Hastings College President Dennis Trotter has resigned, and a new president has been named.
The college announced in an email this morning to faculty, staff and students that the Board of Trustees “reluctantly” accepted Trotter’s resignation. The Tribune obtained a copy of the email.
The board, after accepting the resignation, deliberated and unanimously elected Don Jackson, vice president for advancement, as Trotter’s successor.
Jackson, a Cambridge native and 1970 HC graduate, is the former vice chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is the longtime global chief operating officer of Easter Seals, headquartered in Chicago.
Jackson, along with board chairman Hal Dittmer, planned to speak about the presidential transition during a news conference at 3 p.m. today at the Barrett Alumni Center on the HC campus.
