The Hastings College Board of Trustees announced this morning the resignation of President Dennis Trotter.

According to a news release from Hastings College, the board “reluctantly accepted” Trotter’s resignation before “deliberately and unanimously” electing Donald Jackson as his successor.

As of today, Jackson, a 1970 HC graduate and Cambridge native, has been named the 16th president of Hastings College. Jackson was an active donor to the college and served for five years on the Hastings College Board of Trustees and the Hastings College Foundation Board.

He was named as the college’s vice president of advancement position last fall. Prior to coming to HC, Jackson served as chief operating officer of Easter Seals Inc., with headquarters in Chicago, where he oversaw fundraising activities and internal operations of the organization.
