Jackson has decades-long ties to HC

A Hastings College alum and strong financial supporter of the school is now serving as its president.

On Monday, Don Jackson, a 1970 HC graduate, was named the 16th president of Hastings College after President Dennis Trotter resigned abruptly Friday.

HC Board of Trustees president Hal Dittmer introduced the vice president of advancement as the new leader of the college at a special news conference Monday afternoon.

Jackson, 65, has served on the board of trustees alongside Dittmer for the last five years and has served in the Hastings College Foundation's fundraising office as vice president of advancement for the last four months.
