Emalee Koepke and her dad, Kevin, have now experienced what a good first date should look like. They slurped spaghetti and shared salad for dinner. They played games and took pictures, laughing and chatting without interruption. And after the activities wound down and the plates were cleared, they danced the night away.
"She's been talking about it for weeks," Kevin said, as he and his daughter took a break from the dance floor. "She still has our photo from last year displayed in the living room."
The Koepkes were one of 15 pairs of fathers and daughters that shared a special night out during the city Parks and Recreation Department's third annual Daddy/Daughter Date Night Friday at the Hastings City Auditorium.
