FRANKLIN — The jury trial for one of the three defendants charged in the death of a Naponee toddler has been moved to Hastings and is set to begin the first Monday in May, with time set aside for the rest of that week.
Peter Draper, 48, is charged in the death of his 2-year-old grandson, Joseph Rinehart Jr.
His charges include committing intentional child abuse resulting in death, a Class 1B felony, which is punishable by 20 years to life in prison.
Following a Jan. 18 hearing, Peter also was charged with intentional child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, a Class 2 felony punishable by up to 50 years in prison.
A date for the trial was established in a telephone conference between attorneys Monday afternoon.
