Edgar lottery ticket winner still a mystery

EDGAR — Someone purchased a winning lottery ticket here worth $22,000 that has not yet been claimed.

The Corner Market in Edgar sold a ticket on Sunday with the red numbers 3 and 8, and the white numbers 8 and 9. The odds of hitting the winning combination is 1:105,625.

“I think it’s pretty great,” Corner Market owner Tim Sorsen said. “I’m happy for the person who wins, though we haven’t found out who it is yet.”

Even at a store that doesn’t regularly sell 2 by 2 tickets, the winner is a mystery.
It’s a mystery Sorsen has attempted to solve himself, but he’s not shocked the winner hasn’t come forward yet.

“No, I think a lot of people wait and let the hype die down,” he said. “We called most of our customers we know who play that game, because there’s not a lot around here, and nobody said they had it.”
