HC's new president reaching out to students, alumni

Don Jackson, the newly appointed president of Hastings College, is extending a hand to both students and alumni as he tries to set a good tone for the future of the college.

Between Sunday and March 19, Jackson is scheduled to make appearances in Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island and Gothenburg along with three Colorado stops in Loveland, Denver and Greenwood Village to meet with alumni and other interested parties.

Jackson said now is the time to create a dialogue with all the college's interested parties.

"We want to make sure we reach out to our alumni and friends and give them an opportunity to meet me and the rest of the team and get to know us better and develop a comfort level," Jackson said Thursday. "It's something that is very important to do early on in my presidency and something I hope to continue to do throughout my presidency."
