EXETER — Points were hard to come by during Thursday's matchup between the Class D-1 No. 7 Exeter-Milligan girls basketball team and Crossroads Conference rival Giltner.

But the Timberwolves converted on a few more scoring opportunities to notch their sixth straight victory, downing the Hornets 37-27 in a rematch of the CRC tournament championship played Jan. 25 that the Timberwolves also won.

Giltner struggled from the field, converting just 6-of-31 field-goal attempts in the game. The Hornets also turned it over 26 times, including 10 turnovers in the first quarter as the team fell into an early 11-6 deficit.

The Timberwolves struggled from the floor as well, hitting just 10-of-34 field goal attempts in the game, but the team utilized a balanced scoring attack to pull out the victory. Taylor Erdkamp led E-M with 10 points, while Megan Zwickl, Jackie Luzum and Logan Zeleny pitched in eight points each.
