ROSELAND — Lawrence-Nelson (7-10) used a big second half to wear out the the Silver Lake Mustangs (1-14) in Friday's 56-32 win.
The Mustangs led 25-22 after a Journey Ericsson three-pointer at the halftime buzzer. But the Raiders outscored Silver Lake 34-7 in the final two periods.
Using nine players in his rotation, Lawrence-Nelson head coach Tom Jensen used his depth to outlast the Mustangs.
"You're looking at the 6-man state champions in football," Lawrence-Nelson head coach Tom Jensen said. "They have athletes but not a lot of depth. We kept subbing a lot. We played nine guys in the first half and knew in the end they couldn't keep up the pace that they had. We stayed with that game plan and it worked."
