Class C-2 No. 3 St. Cecilia is on a roll, and Thursday night's girls basketball game with Grand Island Central Catholic only added more proof.
The Hawkettes (15-4) put a stamp on the game early, jumping out to a 22-5 first-quarter lead and never looking back in a 77-30 romp of the Crusaders at Chapman Gymnasium.
STC, which is fresh off the Centennial Conference tournament championship last weekend, improved its winning streak to six games.
After taking a commanding lead after one quarter, the Crusaders (6-13) bounced back with a quick 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 22-10. That's as close as the team would get.
