LINCOLN — A trio of early 3-pointers allowed Hastings St. Cecilia to lead Lincoln Christian for most of the game Friday night, but 28 points from Logan Power was enough to snap the Bluehawks' nine-game winning streak.
Class C-2 No. 1 HSC had the 3-ball going early in the Centennial Conference semi-finals, draining seven in the first half to take a 29-24 lead into the break after scoring the game's first nine points.
LC resolved to stop the bleeding in the second half and did just that, holding the Bluehawks to eight third quarter points before blowing by with a 18-point fourth quarter to grab the 52-49 win. The Class C-1 No. 2 Crusaders fed off their home crowd, with Power's monster game enough to earn them a spot in Saturday's final.
"We got off to a great start but we need to make those tough shots against their zone," HSC coach Kevin Asher said.
