RED CLOUD — The Sutton wrestling team needed some big wins in the final rounds from some of their top performers. And those wrestlers stepped up, as the Mustangs pulled away with the overall team victory at the WarCat Invitational on Saturday.

Sutton scored 137 points, edging out second-place Franklin with 125. The Mustangs had six wrestlers finish atop the podium, none more exciting than junior Tyler Bailey's match at 126 pounds.

Bailey entered the tournament undefeated with a 34-0 record. Also in the same bracket was Franklin senior Mack James, also entering undefeated at 25-0.

With the team lead rotating between the Mustangs and Flyers, a lot of eyes were keyed in on the match between the two district rivals.

Bailey would ultimately come out on top scoring a pin in the second round. After five wins in the tournament, Bailey now sports a 39-0 record.
