ROSELAND — Slow starts have plagued the Silver Lake girls basketball team the past three games, but that wasn't the problem Monday night in its Twin Valley Conference tournament matchup with Kenesaw.
The Class D-2 No. 9 Mustangs developed a 17-point lead at half, but had a dull finish in their 49-39 win.
"We started tightening up. We were playing not to lose instead of playing to win," said Silver Lake head coach Keith Crowe, whose team improved to 10-7 on the season.
