HC adds 25 players on signing day

On Wednesday, many high school students across the country made one of the biggest decisions they've had to make to this point in their athletic careers: where to attend college. Wednesday was national signing day — the day where prep athletes sign their letter of intent to take their skills to the collegiate level.

If you ask Hastings College head coach Tony Harper, it was also a big day for the Bronco football team.

"We're excited. I think, on paper, this is a very good group of guys. This is an athletic group," Harper said. "It's very early. Guys are going to have to earn the time and push the guys that are already here. As a coach, we're very excited about this core."

Hastings College announced the signing of 25 football players Wednesday, and that number promises to keep growing. The offensive side of the ball pulled in 19 players — 11 of whom can be found in the backfield, six offensive linemen and two tight ends. Two offensive players are also listed as playing a defensive position. There were four players recruited for defense — one lineman, two defensive backs and one linebacker — and also two kickers.
