Sandy Creek used an aggressive defense Thursday to win 57-39 over David City in a girls Southern Nebraska Conference Tournament basketball game that involved 47 combined team fouls .
Erica Harms and Conner Lowery each had 10 points to lead the Cougars, who had 17 team fouls in the second half. Still, the Cougars held David City to 17 second-half points.
“We had a lot of fouls. We need to get ourselves in position so we don’t do that so much,” said Sandy Creek head coach Russ Ninemire. “We need to move our feet and just communicate to see things and take care of that a little bit better. We’ve got to be ready to play, and we weren’t ready to play very well.”
