Cardinals lose conference title game in overtime

ORD — For the second time in this year's LouPlatte Conference tournament, the Gibbon Buffaloes overcame a halftime deficit to win.

Gibbon trailed Ravenna 22-10 in the semifinals on Friday night, and was behind 27-22 to Doniphan-Trumbull on Saturday night.

Gibbon fought back to win the conference title in overtime 46-44 in Ord. Class C-2 No. 6 Doniphan-Trumbull came into the championship game with a seven-game win streak that dated back to Jan. 17 when the Cardinals were first defeated by Gibbon by 13 points

"It was a great basketball game and they just made one more play than we did," said Doniphan-Trumbull head coach Steve Hartman.
