KENESAW — The Red Cloud Lady Warriors (9-10) held off a furious Kenesaw (5-14) rally to defeat the Blue Devils 48-44 in overtime Tuesday.

Warriors junior post Brealynn Lockhart hit the opening bucket in the fourth quarter, giving Red Cloud a 29-17 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the game. It would be the last field goal in regulation for Red Cloud as the Blue Devils began their comeback.

"We relied on our defense," Red Cloud head coach Casey Fangmeyer said. "That's no secret, that what we rely on. We understand that we'll have scoring droughts, we just don't want them to last a whole quarter. When you can rely on your defense and rebound, and we did a good job at rebounding, we can give up a little on the offensive end."
