Last season, the Adams Central boys snapped a seven-game losing streak to St. Cecilia in a 56-50 victory. This year, the rivalry renewed on the Patriots' home court, and neither team disappointed.
Both teams battled back-and-forth throughout the game, but it was Class C-2 No. 1 St. Cecilia's inside presence that led to a 67-59 Bluehawk victory.
"When you get two teams like that together, the kids are going to give their hearts and souls for their coaches," said STC head coach Kevin Asher. "We didn't need to write a lot of stuff on the chalkboard before the game. The kids know each other, whether it's from knowing them around town or playing against each other in the summer."
