Second quarter fuels Silver Lake

ROSELAND — It took a little time for the Silver Lake girls basketball team to find it groove, but once they did, they never looked back.

Silver Lake defeated Shelton 48-24 Tuesday night in Roseland. It took a second-quarter run from the Mustangs to establish a lead and keep it.

"The game in the first quarter seemed very slow. The pace was really slow, and we really wanted to push the tempo," said Silver Lake head coach Keith Crowe. "I thought we did a better job of getting a rebound to the outlet and pushing the ball and getting it down the floor. We got a few lay-ins and the pace just got a little bit quicker."
