game Tuesday night in Fairfield.
FAIRFIELD — If it weren't for a big scoring run early in the contest, Blue Hill and Superior could have gone down to the wire.
That's how it was the first time the two teams met on Dec. 6, 2012, when the Bobcats escaped with a 40-39 victory.
But with the season on the line in the semifinals of the Class C-2, Subdistrict 9 tournament, Class C-2 No. 8 Blue Hill went on a 10-0 run in the first quarter and went on to post a 57-47 win Tuesday night at Sandy Creek High School.
The Bobcats (18-3) will face Class C-2 No. 3 St. Cecilia in the subdistrict final Thursday at 7 p.m.
Trailing 5-4 midway through the opening period, Blue Hill went on a run that featured four different scorers. Senior April Faimon got the charge going with back-to-back buckets.
"It was very important, because the last couple of games we've struggled offensively," Blue Hill head coach Tim Streff said. "To come out and hit some early shots really helps confidence."
