HC women fall to No. 7 Concordia

Hastings College's Sierra Williamson shoots against
Concordia's Lori Laboda Wednesday at Lynn Farrell Arena.

Hastings College head women's basketball coach Carrie Hofstetter thought her team was much more competitive against NAIA Division II No. 7 Concordia the second time around.

In the team's first meeting Jan. 8, the Bulldog pressure defense harassed HC in a 76-57 win.

Hastings battled and held an early lead against the second best team in the GPAC conference Wednesday night but fell 73-61 Wednesday night at Lynn Farrell Arena.

The Broncos (15-14, 10-9 GPAC) sit in a three-way tie for fifth in the conference standings with Dakota Wesleyan and Mount Marty. HC still has a matchup with No. 4 Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa, Saturday before the conference tournament pairings are announced. The Mustangs captured the regular season conference title.
