Adams Central's Erik Rostvet wrestles Schuyler's Cesar
Avina during their 138-pound first round match of the Class
B-3 district meet Friday at Adams Central. Rostvet won the
match for his 100th career victory.

The prep wrestling postseason has officially begun. Adams Central played host to the Class B, District 3 meet on Friday, and after the first day of competition, the Patriots are sitting at third in the team standings.

Individually, Adams Central had eight wrestlers advance to the semifinals, which begin at 9 a.m. today.

“We’re in the fight,” said Patriots’ head coach Dan Lonowski. “We have to get some guys to the finals. If we get to the finals we’ll be fine, but we have a very long road in front of us to make that happen.”
