HC women see season come to end with loss

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Hastings College women's basketball season came to an end in the Great Plains Athletic Conference quarterfinals Wednesday.

The No. 8-seeded Broncos had a tough time competing against top-seeded Morningside's defense, falling 66-44.

HC finishes the season 15-16 overall after going 10-10 in the GPAC during the regular season. NAIA Division II No. 2 Morningside (26-4) moves on to play fourth-seeded Briar Cliff in the semifinals Saturday.

The Mustangs won all three of their games with Hastings College this season, with Wednesday's contest being the most lopsided.

Hastings managed just 17 points in the first half Wednesday, as the team managed to go only 7-of-26 from the field.
