HHS duo goes to finals

Hastings High's Brandon Kile wrestles Lincoln High's Aiden
Arnold during their 113-pound Class A semifinal match of the
state tournament Friday at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.

OMAHA — Hastings High's Brandon Kile and Nolan Laux have formed a special bond over the years. With Kile being a 113-pounder and Laux wrestling at 120, the two are wrestling partners in the practice room. And now, they'll share the biggest stage in high school wrestling — the state championship.

Both Kile and Laux won their semifinal matches Friday at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha to clinch their spots in the Class A championship matches today.

"They wrestled really well. Brandon had a good idea of offensively what he was going to do on his feet. He wrestled a really smart match," Tigers' head coach Brian Laux said.
