OMAHA — Minden wrestler Quin Rutt capped off an impressive season with an impressive championship.

Rutt was crowned state champion after winning his 160-pound finals match Saturday at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha. The Whippets’ senior recorded a takedown in the closing seconds to earn the victory.

“I was just overwhelmed inside. All of the hard work paid off, and I was just grateful,” Rutt said. “Senior year state championship, you don’t need anything else other than that.”
