MINDEN — Forty-five minutes before their subdistrict play-in game with Franklin, the members of the Blue Hill boys basketball team had a contest seeing who could jump the highest and touch a target hanging off the hoop. They appeared relaxed for the postseason game ahead.
That calm showed as the No. 4-seeded Bobcats (13-10) utilized an efficient offense while covering all gaps on defense in Monday’s 68-35 win over the No. 5 Flyers (0-18) at Minden’s C.L. Jones Middle School Gym.
Blue Hill moves on to the semifinals of the Class C-2, subdistrict 8 tourney and will play top-seeded Doniphan-Trumbull (20-3) tonight at 6.
“It was good to get back into the win column. For whatever reason, we had a let down after the conference tournament. Tonight, we got things back to how we were playing before — unselfish play, mixing the defense. Those were two things we did well,” said Bobcats’ head coach Joe Hubl.
