FAIRMONT — The CPI-Lansing LLC grain elevator west of here will be closed for an undetermined length of time following a partial collapse of a grain silo Tuesday afternoon.
Cooperative Producers Inc. CEO Bob Fifield said this morning that no injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred around 4:30 p.m. The concrete silo has a capacity of 140,000 bushels and is one of eight connected containers.
"We've got structural engineers there," he said. "We've got some in today and more coming tomorrow, so until we have the engineers look at it we can't make any determinations. We're not engineers."
