The Pamida in Superior is now Shopko Hometown.

SUPERIOR — The transition of the Pamida store here into a Shopko Hometown location now is complete.

Following the 2012 merger between the two companies, all Pamida stores now are Shopkos.

Larry Lunzer, manager of Superior's Shopko Hometown at 1150 E. Third St., said employees were notified of the merger Jan. 15, 2012. Remodeling of his store occurred throughout December following a Pamida liquidation sale that began Sept. 9.

The grand opening for the Superior Shopko is today.

The only other Tribland Shopko store is a pharmacy in downtown Smith Center, Kan.
