Costumes make event more festive

Celebrities of days gone by graced the sixth-floor ballroom of The Kensington Assisted Living Community on Friday.

Charlie Chapman, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Lucille Ball took pictures with guests before the show, complete with red carpet, photos with stars, feather boas and top hats.

Staff dressed as the famous entertainers as they tried to bring the glamorous history of The Kensington's ballroom back with a Hollywood-themed event.

Held in conjunction with the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, staff hosted a Golden Years award show on Friday. Residents were given awards for a variety of fun categories like Best Late Night Sports Fan, Good Neighbor of the Year and Sunshine Award.
