More than 100 former Hastings College basketball players returned to their alma mater this weekend to celebrate the anniversary of three national tournament teams.

Alums were invited to return to the college for a two-day reunion and watch the current Broncos team take on the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Mike Trader, who was a head coach at Hastings College for 16 years, organized the reunion and game. Both the Broncos and UNK were not scheduled to play this week, providing the opportunity to postpone the matchup from November to coincide with the reunion.

Several former teams and individuals were recognized during time outs through the game on Sunday at the Lynn Farrell Arena.

Lynn ‘Doc’ Farrell, head coach for the team who coached for 24 years, received a standing ovation when he was honored in the second half.
