County board names new clerk

Handling large amounts of money and experience with disciplining employees were two of the things that set new Adams County Clerk Ramona Thomas apart from the other candidates.

Thomas was named the new clerk by a vote of the Adams County Board of Supervisors at a special meeting Tuesday afternoon.

The board received 18 applications for the position vacated by Chris Lewis, who retired Jan. 11.

On Tuesday, the board interviewed Thomas and fellow Clerk's Office employee Pam Witte along with Adams County Sheriff's Deputy Byron Morrow. Thomas, Witte and Morrow were the top three candidates for the position.
