Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy believes a major change in the state's tax code will mean good things for all Nebraskans.
"By adopting a modern, simpler and fairer tax code, we have the opportunity to make Nebraska a top-10 business tax climate state so that our sons and our daughters and new citizens can find jobs and careers right here in Nebraska," Sheehy said Tuesday at the Hastings Municipal Airport.
Sheehy and Gov. Dave Heineman took a tour of the state Tuesday to tout Heineman's State of the State address. Heineman first presented his goals for the session to the Nebraska Legislature at the Capitol in Lincoln Tuesday morning.
Likely the most talked about aspect of the governor's speech was the tax reform plan, which would include the reduction or total elimination of individual and corporate income taxes.
