Fire burns about 150 acres

A crew from the Clay Center volunteer fire
department extinguishes hot spots from a
grass fire south of Highway 74 and east of
Antioch Road Thursday afternoon.

It took firefighters about four hours to get a grass fire pushed by Thursday’s high winds under control near Glenvil.

The fire, which burned about 150 acres, started at about 12:30 p.m. Six departments and about 75 total firefighters responded.

The fire started about 3 miles south of the corner of Nebraska Highway 74 and Antioch Avenue in Adams County.
