He is a resident of Hastings just like any other.
He can be seen walking and biking on the city bike trail or visiting the Hastings Public Library. He is an active businessman. He enjoys spending time with his kids and going to movies and events in the community.
But when Mayor Vern Powers enters his office at city hall, he takes on a different visage. He becomes the face of the city staff, looking to pave the way for a handful of city projects and set a positive example in the community in 2013.
