The city of Hastings is collaborating with several city entities and a local marketing firm to move forward on a proposed website that would streamline and sophisticate the city's Web presence as early as this year.
The Hastings City Council heard a presentation from Idea Bank Marketing about the proposed site at its work session Tuesday. The site would make it easier for visitors and residents to access news and information from different city entities.
"This is a huge opportunity in terms of marketing our city," said Kaleena Fong, executive director of the Adams County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, who introduced the plan Tuesday. "All our departments have come to a point where we need to update our websites. By moving forward with this, we can work together to create a solid brand for our community."
