Astronaut Clayton Anderson was elevated once again Wednesday night, but not by spacecraft.
The Nebraska-born Hastings College graduate was honored with the Tom Osborne Leadership Award at a seminar and banquet event presented by Leadership Hastings. Wednesday at Lochland Country Club.
Anderson was among presenters who included Husker volleyball coach John Cook and several local speakers. Anderson's role included fielding questions alongside Cook at a question-and-answer session following the seminar, then sharing some of his memories from space with a slide show presentation at the banquet.
"I'm very honored to be here to be selected as recipient of the Tom Osborne Leadership Award," he said. "Any award that has Tom Osborne and the word leadership in it and my name associated with it makes me very, very grateful. Hopefully I can live up to the legacy that the award represents."
