Kids Against Hunger plannin meals for Philippines

Kids Against Hunger of Hastings is seeking help to package 100,000 meals to send to the Philippines to address ongoing needs following Hurricane Haiyan in November.

The group packed and sent 100,000 meals to the Philippines in December following the crisis, but the need remains large enough to warrant another community effort. Many in the small country continue to be hungry and in need of food as flooding and landslides forced the evacuation of tent-cities and makeshift shelters.

"In December, when we were asked to help, we reached out to the community and had those meals ready within six weeks of the hurricane — 100,000 is a lofty goal, but it's doable," said the Rev. Renee Johnson, director of Kids Against Hunger of Hastings.
