Tri-City Storm president Greg Shea made a point of telling the crowd at Libs Park Thursday night that the hockey team is not called the Kearney Storm.

“We don’t get out enough and we’re so honored to be here tonight,” he said.

Shea said that as he presented a purple jersey to Hastings City Councilman Michael Krings and Hastings Park and Recreation director Jeff Hassenstab for their part in setting up Pregame at the Park. The event, which was at the ice rink set up at Libs, served as a pep rally for Storm games this weekend against the Des Moines Buccaneers, including Saturday, which has been designated as Hastings Night.
