Tigers beat Lexington again

Hastings High's Sam Johnson (left) and Chris Gerard fight
for the ball against Lexington's Trevor McKeone Saturday in
Hastings.

The Hastings High boys basketball team operated at full throttle, particularly offensively, from the opening tip of Saturday's home matchup with Lexington.

The Tigers connected on nearly 55 percent of their field goals and led from start to finish en route to picking up a 64-44 victory over the Minutemen.

Hastings High jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead in the first 2 1/2 minutes of the contest and never looked back.

Six different Hastings High players scored in the opening quarter as the Tigers built a 14-9 lead. That would be the theme for the evening, as eight different Tigers scored in the ball game.
