After falling just six points short of qualifying for the state tournament last year, the Class D-1 No. 5 Kenesaw boys basketball team is on its way to making this a special season.
The Blue Devils, who are off to an 11-0 start to the season, have a starting five who has been playing with each other for quite some time now, with a few of them being starters for the past three years.
Dalton Bender, Kole Kimle, Tyler Schnitzler, Brady Staton and Mason Stocker — all seniors — have led the Blue Devils to an impressive start. Kenesaw coach Jack Einrem said this year's senior class is a special group of players.
"I've been pretty lucky. They're a great group of kids," Einrem said. "They work hard in the classroom, they're good students and I can't say enough about them. I'm very lucky to have a group like this."
