NELSON — The Class D-2 No. 2 Giltner basketball team defeated Lawrence-Nelson 69-42 to improve to 9-1 on the season, but it took some time for the Hornets to get going.

In the first three minutes, 25 seconds, Giltner was 1-for-7 from the field and had scored just two points. But the Hornets ended the quarter on a 10-4 run, which jump-started the offense.

"I thought we looked a little tired and sluggish. We have a little bit of stuff going around the team and maybe we're not quite as healthy as we'd like to be," said Giltner head coach Nancy Lockmon.
