GICC pulls away in second half

DONIPHAN — If there was one thing that both the Doniphan-Trumbull and Grand Island Central Catholic girls teams did well on Saturday night, it was offensive rebounding. Both teams tallied a total of five offensive rebounds apiece in the first quarter alone.

But a late run in the second quarter by GICC proved to be to much for D-T to overcome as the Crusaders won 48-27.

“A lot of credit goes to them,” said Doniphan-Trumbull head coach Mark Davis. “They went around us and they got a lot of offensive rebounds, and you can’t do that against good competition.”
