Bluehawks win at buzzer

St. Cecilia's Tommy O'Keeffe and Lincoln Christian's Evan
Mathers go after a loose ball Saturday in Hastings.

The Class C-2 No. 5 St. Cecilia boys basketball team lived by the three-pointer, then nearly died from it.
Leading Class C-1 No. 4 Lincoln Christian 50-48 with under a minute left, a breakdown by the Bluehawk defense allowed Crusader senior Micah Dworak to sink an uncontested trey from the top of the circle to put the visitors (8-3) up one.

St. Cecilia, which finished 13-of-28 from beyond the arc itself, had one last offensive possession. Head coach Kevin Asher called a timeout with 17 seconds left, and set up a play to find his son, sophomore Brooks Asher, in the corner for a try at a 3-pointer.

Instead, the Crusader defense floated to the arc, forcing the Bluehawks to look inside.
