Hastings College basketball fans packed Lynn Farrell Arena for a rare Sunday game between the Broncos and the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

Former Hastings College players were scattered throughout the crowd, in attendance for the Hastings College men’s basketball alumni weekend. During media timeouts, a select few players, coaches and teams were honored for their contributions to the program.

It was fitting that the weekend filled with remembering the Bronco program’s past culminated with the rivalry game against the Lopers. Unfortunately for the HC faithful, UNK’s inside game was too much for Hastings College to handle.

The NAIA No. 17-ranked Broncos fell to Division II foe University of Nebraska-Kearney 84-67 in the 189th game between the two programs — Hastings College still holds a 102-87 advantage in the series.
