Hastings High's Brad Anderson wrestles McCook's Dakota
Baumgartner in the 152-pound match during their dual meet
Thursday.
It's been a good January for the Hastings High wrestling team.
The Tigers opened up the new year with a runaway dual win over Lincoln Northeast, and followed that with a pair of strong performances at the Millard West invite and the Lincoln Public Schools dual invite in consecutive weekends. HHS finished fourth at the Millard West, and then won the non-LPS division of the dual tournament.
On Thursday, the team took to the mats for its second home dual of the season. HHS developed a 47-0 lead over Class B McCook, and eventually posted a 53-24 victory.
"Every time we wrestle McCook, they always have tough kids and that's expected," HHS coach Brian Laux said. "You start to get on a roll and the kids feed off that, and I think that happened, too."
