Kenesaw boys win rematch

Kenesaw's Preston Schnitzler keeps the ball away from
Lawrence-Nelson's Cole Epley Friday in Kenesaw.

A strong defense was the deciding factor for the Kenesaw Blue Devils, who defeated the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders 35-28 on Friday.

The Blue Devils made amends for a 23-19 loss to the Raiders earlier this season at the Harvard Holiday tournament.

The two teams would pick up where they left off in the previous matchup, but not until after the first quarter which began with strong three-point shooting from both teams. Austin Mazour of Lawrence-Nelson opened the game with a 3-pointer, but Kenesaw responded by scoring all of its first quarter field goals from beyond the arc.

"We thought if we could reverse the ball a few times and spread their zone out a little bit, but they do such a good job keeping everything tight on the outside," said Kenesaw head coach Jack Einrem.
