Doniphan-Trumbull boys basketball head coach Steve Hartman knew his team had an advantage on the inside when his team took on Adams Central on Saturday.
Following the Cardinals’ loss to Gibbon on Friday, Hartman wanted his team to emphasize its presence in the paint.
The Class C-2 No. 6 Cardinals controlled the game because of its rebounding, which led to a 47-42 victory over Class C-1 Adams Central. Doniphan-Trumbull improved to 10-2 on the year, while Adams Central fell to 10-5.
“The key to the whole game was offensive rebounding. We didn’t shoot well, but we got a lot of opportunities and hit the boards,” Hartman said.
