Freshman Elyse Keller came off the bench in a huge way for Adams Central Tuesday, making a clutch eight-footer with 27 seconds left to force overtime.
The Patriots’ defense then held Wood River to only two points in overtime, leading to a 53-46 win.
Keller finished with 12 points, including eight for 10 from the foul line. Adams Central shot seven of 11 free throws in overtime, complimenting an impressive defensive effort.
Adams Central’s Josie Bumgardner paced the Patriots with 16 points, including five of the nine overtime points.
