Hastings College head women’s basketball coach Carrie Hofstetter said her squad loves having the momentum.

And they also do a good job of creating it when needed.

The NAIA No. 9 Broncos utilized two key scoring runs in the second half to erase a four-point halftime deficit and earn a 78-65 victory over No. 8 Concordia on Wednesday night at Lynn Farrell Arena.

After winning all three, Hofstetter said her team has put itself in a position for some possible postseason success.

“I thought our kids competed well game after game. I think our kids have matured over the last 13 games, and this was another growing pain in some ways,” she said. “But it was also a step to where we want to be in two weeks, toward the end of the season.”

After Wednesday’s games, the Broncos sit just half-game back for the top spot in the conference, as No. 2 Northwestern was upset by No. 10 Morningside.
