Columbus defeated Hastings High in both the boys and girls divisions Thursday at a swimming and diving dual, but it was still a positive day for the Tigers.
In just its second and final home competition of the season, a couple dozen students packed the stands inside the YMCA pool area waving homemade signs and cheering on fellow students.
"I was very, very happy about that. This was the first time we've had students come and watch," said Hastings High head coach Amber Hoffman. "That's thanks to our team, they talked to everybody at school and we had really good numbers."
